Auction 61
Well here we are at the first auction held by US amusements in York PA
held on 4-12-03. With the exception of the
drive (which SUCKED) the location is very nice. The room rented had
ample power for testing, painted and clean
floors, and was well lit. There is even a nice old lady off in the
back making sandwiches, hot dogs and hamburgers
to order if you got hungry (and it tasted good too)
Lots of new faces at the show as many "regulars" for the Jersey shows,
chose not to make the trip while
a fresh batch of locales attened.
The collection of machine was not huge, but the choice of machines was
different. There was a Johnny Mnemonic Pinball
machine I wanted (if I had the cash). I haven't seen one in over a
year, and a different collection of sit down
machines were there to choose from too. In guess what I'm saying is
that there has been a large group of machines
that seem to show up at every auction and just get bought back to be
resold at the next show, or get bough by collectors
and resold an auction or two later. This show didn't contain the
normal, constantly recycled machines The selection
of parts for sale was small, but it didn't seem to be a "parts crowd"
anyway.
So the bottom line is that I enjoyed the show and will make the trip
again, even it is a 3 /12 hour trip. The conditions
and building lay out are 100 times better then the building in Egg
Harbor. On with the results
